Snakeguard Kootu
Pudalankai _ 1/2kg ( cut into small squres)
Onion _ 2 medium size ( finely chopped )
Tomato _ 1 finely chopped
Garlic _ 8 pods
Cooked tuvardal _ 3 tbsp
Coriander leaves _ 2 tsp. finely chopped
Salt _ to taste
Seasoning
Mustard _1/4tsp
Jeera _ 1/4tsp
Split uraddal _ 1/2tsp
Curry leaves _ f ew
Oil _ 1 tsp
Grind to paste:
Coconut pieces _ 5 pieces
Green chilly _ 5 nos
Funnel seeds _ 1 tsp.
Khuskhus _ 1 ½ tsp.
Method :

1. Chop the snakeguard into bitesize pieces and set aside. Cook tuvar dal and set aside.
2. Make a paste of the contents given under grind to paste. Chop the onion and tomato finely.

3. Heat 2 tsp. oil in a kadai, add onion, garlic and sauté for 2 minutes ,now add the chopped snakeguard, little water and salt.

4. Allow it to cook, once the snakeguard is cooked ,add the ground paste & mix well.
5. Add the chopped tomato, tuvar dal & mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.

6. Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds,jeera,split uraddal & curry leaves.

7. Serve hot with Rice .
