Valaipoo – 1
Grated coconut – 4 tsp.
Shallots – 10 ( optional)
Turmeric powder- 1/2tsp
Salt – to taste
Seasoning:
Mustard – ¼ tsp.
Jeera -1/4 tsp.
Split uraddal – 3/4tsp
Redchilly – 3 split
Curryleaves – few
Method :


Clean and finely chopped the plantain fiower. Immerse in thin buttermilk . Sothat itdoesn”t change colour.

Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard, jeera, split uraddal& split redchilly.
Add chopped onion, sauté for 2 minutes, add the chopped valaipoo (plantain flower) , add salt, mix well. Sprinkle with ¼ tumbler water.

Cover with the lid, allow it to cook for 3 minutes. Finally add grated coconut and give a stir & switchoff the flame.


Serve hot with rice, sambar & Rasam.
