Poondu milaku sambar

Garlic -30 to 40 pods

Pepper–1tbsp

Ghee -4tbsp

Sambar powder -1\2 tsp

Turmeric powder -1\4 tsp

Tamarind -1 lemon size

Salt – to taste

Tuvardal -4 to 5 tsp ( cooked)

Seasoning:

Oil -1 tsp

Mustard seeds -1\2 tsp

Jeera -1\4 tsp

Curry leaves – few

Method:

· Heat ghee in a kadai, add the pepper corns , fry till it splutter, take it in a morter and pestle and make into coarse powder.

· In the same kadai fry the garlic pods.Fry 3 to5 minutes . Then add turmeric powder and salt. Add 1\2 tumbler water. Let this boil, the garlic get cooked.Now mash the garlic in the kadai itself.

· Add sambar powder, coarsely powder pepper, tamarind juice, cooked tuvardal. Stir well and let this boil for 5 minutes.

· Season with mustard seeds,jeera and curry leaves.

· Serve with hot rice

· NOTE: This is a traditional sambar, also useful for treating for cold& indigestion.
