Kollu (Horse gram)- 2tbsp
Cooked tuvar dal – 1 tsp. ( 2 garlic+ 1 tomato)
Tamarind water – 1 tumbler ( lemon size tamarind)
Garlic Pods -7
Turmeric powder – 1/2tsp
Coriander leaves – small bunch
Rasam Powder : (Grind coarse powder)
Pepper – 3/4tsp
Jerra -1/2tsp
Red chilly- 1
Hing -1/4tsp
Garlic -6pods
Seasoning:
Mustard seeds -1/4tsp
Jeera -1/4tsp
Garlic pods -5
Red chilly -1
Curry leaves – few
Oil – 1tsp
Ghee -1/2tsp
Procedure:
1.Cook the horsegram dal with turmeric powder&Salt.
2.For the rasam podi , grind the ingredients given under grind
to coarse powder.
3. Heat oil 1tsp & 1/2TSP ghee in a kadai, splutter Mustard seed,
cumin seeds, red chilly, Curry leavesand 5 crushed garlic pods.
4. Saute for 2 minutes , now add the ground rasam powderand Saute
for another 2-3 minutes.
5. Now add 1glass tamarind water, turmeric powder, cooked tuvar dal ,
cooked horsegram water and required salt.
6. Take 1tsp of cooked horsegram , mash it well and add it to the rasam
and allow to boil for 1 minute.
7. Serve with steamed rice and potato fry / any other fry.
Note:
1.The cooked horsegram can be used for making Sundal.
2.This rasam is a Healthy weight loss recipe.
3.Take more buttermilk after taking this Rasam.
