kurma Potato Masala _2 August 4, 2019November 20, 2019 Padmalatha Ajith Prasad Potato Masala Potato – 2 MediumSize Onion – 2 Mediumsize Tomato -2Mediumsize Turmeric Powder -1 tsp Friedgramdal powder -2 tsp Salt – to taste Grind To Paste: Green chilly -5 Ginger -1 inch Garlic -8 pods Funnel Seeds -1 tsp. Seasoning: Mustard -1/2 tsp Jeera -1/4 tsp Cloves -2 Kapok buds -2 ( marati mokku ) Curry Leaves – few Oil 4 tbsp Method: 1) Pressure cook the potato by adding turmeric powder,salt for 2 whistle. Peeloff the skin and mash it. Set aside. 2) Heat oil in a thickbottom kadai or pressurecooker, splutter ingredients given under seasoning. 3) Now add the coarse groundpaste, sauté well, add finely chopped onion,salt, turmeric powder . 4) Saute till the onion turn iight brown. Now add finely chopped tomato. 5) Sauté till it turns mushy. Now add the mashed potatoes. 6) Add 11/2 tumbler water. Mix well. 7) Make a paste of friedgramdal powder without any lumps. Add this and mix well. 8) When the gravy thickens, switch off the flame. 9) Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve with chapatti, polka & Dosa Note: 1) The potato should be cooked well before mashing. 2) Friedgramdal powder should not be added directly to the gravy, because it will cause lumps in the gravy.
